Understanding RNG Issues

Common RNG Opening Problems

Nokia PC Suite Not Present

If you attempt to load your RNG file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open RNG Files". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Nokia PC Suite for %%os%% installed on your computer. The OS won't know what to do with your RNG file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your RNG, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Nokia PC Suite Requires Update

In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Nokia Composer Ringtone file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Nokia PC Suite (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your Nokia Composer Ringtone file was created by a different (newer) version of Nokia PC Suite than what's installed.

Tip: Right-clicking on your RNG, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
